Landslides were numerous and widespread, the principal ones being in the Botanical Gardens at Glenealy, at Magazine Gap, Wanchai Gap, the Island Road near Tytan Tuk and Repulse Bay, at Pokfulam and on Stubbs Read to the Peak.

a great extent, The worst individual damage being to Villa

Hiramere near Pokfulam, Mountain Lodge, Praya East Fruit

Market, Ma Tau Kok Slaughter House, Kowloon Blind Home, Lai

Chi Kok Branch Prison, Cheung Chau Police Station, Lysholt

(the Chief Justice' residence), the Puisne Judge's House and

the temporary Central Fire Station. The estimated damage is

spread over some 155 buildings.

Wireless Station, Cape d'Aguilar................... $14,000.

The wireless masts at Cape d'Aguilar were blow down and will

require re-erecting. In the meantime wireless communication

has been re-established by the use of temporary masts which

were erected without delay, The Direction Finder mast

collapsed and damaged the instrument house; a new and

stronger rast is being erected, Huch damage was done to the

station and quarters and many repairs are necessary to put

the station in thereugh working order again.
